Light cuts the chaos of disorder!
Master Jaha, while demonstrating the Light summoning kata

The Light Civilization, also sometimes called the Light Realm or simply Light, is a mono-civilization combination that is distinguished by a yellow color frame and is represented by a sun symbol.

Creatures of the Light Civilization are mysterious sky-dwellers known for being very organized and methodical, they also take the rules very seriously and think very highly of themselves. Additionally, Light creatures are not capable of lying.

The Monarch of the Light Civilization is Eternal Haven, Angelic Liege who is the rightful owner of the Heart of Light.

Description

The Light Civilization rises above the other civilizations, literally. They live in majestic, floating cities in the sky that operate with clock-like precision. For Light Civilization creatures, intellectual power reigns supreme and they have harnessed their superior intelligence to create elegant and advanced technologies to help them in all aspects of their lives. In fact, the Light Civilization creatures' polished metal bodies are mechanical constructs designed to hold their souls which are made of light. Because of their nature, they are able to use light in all its forms (waves, particles, beams, etc.), whether for defense or offense.

As for their philosophy, the Light Civilization views the Water Civilization in a good light, sharing Water's interest in the pursuit of advanced technology....though the Light Civilization's golden tech is more streamlined and advanced. They also get along with the Nature Civilization, because Nature needs light to grow and expand. For obvious reasons, they are the nemesis to those from the Darkness Civilization and they find the destructive and chaotic nature of the Fire Civilization distasteful.

Light Creatures highly value and respond only to order; they view their society as if it were a clock, every last individual creature has a function, and every function has a purpose, and they believe that if any part of their society fails, then the whole Light Civilization fails. The reverse is also true; if one Light creature is made better, then the whole Light Civilization is better. Light creatures are also connected to each other through a collective will, though they are still individual beings with their own sense of self.

Summoning Kata

The kata for summoning a creature of the Light Civilization starts by swinging your left arm up and then doing the same with your right arm. You then jump and spread your arms up like wings while kicking you right leg forward. Finally, you extend your right arm forward with your palm facing up, your left arm across your chest, your left palm facing towards your right arm, and your left knee raised so that you are standing on one foot.

When the kata is being performed, the duelist is surrounded by a whirl of light energy.

Trivia

  • According to Nigel Brightmore in Heavenly Creatures, traveling to the Light Civilization requires a leap of faith.
    • Howver, as that is unlike the Light Civilization, Sasha didn't warn Gabe about it, and no other civilization requires a similar test, it is possible that Nigel simply made it up.
  • According to Sasha, Channeler of Light in Betrayal, the Light Civilization strictly enforces laws against disorder, such as the disorder of a teenage boys messy bedroom.
